1 Lake Drainage

Over the last few years, the wet spot that is currently in the middle of the first fairway on 1 lake has tripled in size.  This past week we installed approximately 800 ft of drainage pipe to remedy the situation.

About an hour after the drain lines were cut in, we had water coming up from the bottom of the trenches which helps explain why the area never dried out.  The video posted below shows water trickling out of the line.  While this area may remain wet for this rain season, it should be much less in future years.  That is of course if the glaciers don't melt.  These aren't 100 year drain lines!

Undercover Oaks

If you have spent any time at Cinnabar over the last three winters, you'll know that I am not a huge fan of coyote bushes.  This week we tackled the coyote bushes right of the green on 1 Mountain and behind the tee of 6 Mountain.  To our surprise we found some really nice oaks (16 to be exact) that would probably not have survived if not for the removal of the coyote bushes.  It will be interesting to see how they mature.

4 Lake Tranquility

With the frost we've had this week, we went to work on cleaning out the coyote brush and trees surrounding the creek on 4 Lake.  The objective was to have an unobstructed view to the fairway and expose the two picturesque rocks which were accomplished as seen in the pictures.

When the brush was cleared out and I was able to see and get in to the creek, I was really taken back though.  This creek hasn't run much in the last few years and when it has, I haven't paid attention, but the soft sound of water flowing through the creek was very tranquil.  I must of stood in there for ten minutes before leaving.  I enjoyed it so much that I took a small video of it.
