I thought I would take the time to address why the lakes on 2 canyon and 7 lake are lower than normal. Both of those lakes are what we pull from to irrigate the golf course. With the recent heat we are using more water than we are putting back. We do have the capabilities to fill the lakes until they are full, but we only fill the lakes from 10pm to 6am. The reasons for that are three part; 1) because energy rates are less at night, 2) helps Santa Clara Valley Water District by not using water at peak usage times, and 3) also helps PG&E and their daytime demands.
We'll soon catch up and have the lakes full again as temperatures have decreased slightly. One positive having the lakes lower was that it made it a lot easier to spray the algae this year!
